Telkom is set to take Comic Con Africa 2024 by storm, transforming the JHB Expo Centre from September 26-29 into the ultimate gaming destination. The return of “The Home of Gaming,” Telkom’s immersive hub, promises to elevate the gaming experience for attendees, offering a diverse range of interactive attractions and thrilling competitions.
At the center of the action is the VS Gaming World, where gaming enthusiasts dived into a variety of cutting-edge activities. Attendees explored mobile gaming with Telkom Plus and OPPO, experiencing the latest in gaming technology by playing popular titles in a dynamic, tech-driven environment. The VS Gaming Tournaments Stage delivered high-speed thrills as top professional players battled it out, creating a high-adrenaline atmosphere for both gamers and spectators.
Telkom’s Free-to-Play Areas were a huge hit, featuring popular games like FC24, where visitors tested their skills and enjoyed free access to a range of games. The excitement continued with the Masters, Championship, and High School Esports League (HSEL) Finals, adding another layer of competitive spirit to the event. In the HSEL Rocket League Finals, last season’s 1st place team HS Waterkloof and 2nd place HS Oos-Moot returned for a fierce rematch. Similarly, in the HSEL Counter-Strike Finals, HS Waterkloof and Parklands College once again squared off, aiming for supremacy. The Masters Finals saw Nixuh, last year’s runner-up, striving for victory in the Season 9 Masters Title.
This year, Telkom introduced a fresh, innovative concept—the Next Gen Squad, a trio of dynamic characters designed to captivate fans and showcase Telkom’s latest offerings. Meet the squad:
