Airlink, a leading regional airline, has announced the expansion of its network to include direct flights between Cape Town and Gaborone, the capital of Botswana. The new route will commence on April 1, 2025, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The airline will operate its modern 44-seat Embraer E140 Regional Jets on the route, offering passengers a comfortable and convenient travel experience. Each passenger is entitled to a 20kg free checked-in luggage allowance and a 15kg sporting equipment allowance. Onboard, passengers can enjoy a complimentary light meal and refreshments while relaxing in spacious seats with ample legroom.
“Gaborone is a significant regional hub for business, with a thriving economy driven by sectors such as minerals, resources, automotive, and technology,” said Airlink CEO and MD, Rodger Foster. “As the headquarters of the Southern African Development Community, the city also plays a crucial role in regional cooperation. Moreover, Gaborone serves as a gateway to numerous game lodges and the Gaborone Game Reserve, making it an attractive destination for leisure travelers.”
Foster further added that the increasing demand for travel between Cape Town and Gaborone, coupled with Cape Town’s economic growth, has prompted Airlink to introduce this direct service. The new route will also facilitate seamless connections for passengers traveling between Gaborone and Airlink’s international partner airlines via Cape Town, and vice versa.
With this expansion, Airlink reinforces its commitment to providing convenient and accessible air travel options for both business and leisure travelers within the Southern African region.
