Following a powerful collaboration that saw legendary South African musician Kwesta as the face of Bisquit & Dubouché’s global “Story to Sip” campaign, the two icons are once again joining forces to inspire and uplift the next generation of creative innovators. In 2024, Bisquit & Dubouché and Kwesta are taking their partnership to new heights with a visionary initiative: a creative production facility that aims to support young talent in music and content creation.
Reflecting on his journey, Kwesta shared his motivation for the project, saying, “I’ll never forget how hard the hustle was when I was coming up. Now that I’ve made a mark, my motivation to give back continues to grow. I don’t only want my story to inspire others, but I want to find ways to uplift young creators and give them the tools and spaces they need to push their craft forward. Creatives need a safe space to innovate, follow their instincts, and forge new paths.”
This shared vision resonates deeply with Bisquit & Dubouché. Ryan George, Marketing Manager for B&D South Africa, remarked, “Our partnership with Kwesta naturally evolved into this initiative. At Bisquit & Dubouché, we’re dedicated to upholding the pioneering spirit of our founders, whose innovative distillation techniques changed the history of Cognac. We believe that this production hub as a community center will offer young creators in music and content the same opportunity to pioneer and innovate.”
The creative hub, set to launch in October 2024, will feature a state-of-the-art recording studio, podcast creation facilities, and a networking lounge, providing young artists with access to professional equipment and spaces for collaboration. For Kwesta, this space embodies a long-held dream. Having started his own career on a humble, makeshift home setup, he’s passionate about offering today’s emerging talents a foundation he didn’t have.
The facility’s first project will be a new podcast hosted by Kwesta, showcasing South Africa’s next generation of music innovators. In an intimate one-on-one setting, Kwesta will interview emerging artists, providing them with a platform to share their journeys, challenges, and insights into making it in the industry. “Storytelling is an incredibly powerful part of our culture,” Kwesta explained. “This podcast doesn’t just spotlight talent; it offers listeners inspiration and insights into overcoming adversity and carving out their own paths.”
Kwesta is also working on his upcoming album, The Big Brother Theory, set for release in October 2024. The album features collaborations with renowned artists like Nkosazana Daughter, Black Diamond, and Yanga. Fans can look forward to a special mention of Bisquit & Dubouché in the track “Joy,” which celebrates the support that has made this journey possible.
Bisquit & Dubouché’s esteemed range of cognacs — V.S. (Very Special), V.S.O.P. (Very Special Old Pale), and X.O. (Extra Aged) — each offer a unique taste, crafted through the “long cut” distillation method that enhances aromatic intensity and smoothness. These premium cognacs are available at leading retailers nationwide, including Norman Goodfellows, Pick n Pay Liquor, Spar Tops, Checkers Liquor, and online stores.
Through this collaboration, Bisquit & Dubouché and Kwesta are building more than just a recording studio; they’re creating a legacy. Together, they aim to keep the spirit of creativity and innovation alive for generations, empowering young South African creators to dream big and make their mark.
