“We love how Strictly Soul is noticeably dominated by femme energy. No offence to the gents, but we’re sure you get it… We’d all much rather be in a room of women having a good time. The energy is just nicer, you know? Everyone feels comfortable, no one’s creeping, no one’s fighting, it’s just a softer energy,” says Anita Makgetla.

“Strictly Soul has always been a party for girls and my favourite girls to DJ for are the girls wearing sunglasses. They’ve got a different energy. So, we decided to create a party where everyone is my favourite person to DJ for,” says Akio Kawahito.
