Hyde Hotel to Bring Bohemian Vibe to Johannesburg

The bustling city of Johannesburg is set to welcome a new era of hospitality as the first Hyde Hotel in Africa prepares to open its doors near the Rosebank Gautrain station.

Ennismore Hotels, in partnership with real estate private equity platform Kasada, has announced the acquisition of the former Voco Hotel in Rosebank. The property, boasting 131 rooms and 31 suites, will undergo a transformation to embody the signature bohemian spirit of the Hyde brand.

This marks Ennismore’s debut in the Johannesburg market, promising to introduce a unique lifestyle experience to the city. The hotel will share its space with the popular Proud Mary restaurant and offer dedicated meeting rooms for business travelers and events.

“We are thrilled to bring the Hyde experience to Johannesburg and partner with Kasada once again,” said Louis Abi Abboud, Chief Development Officer of IMEAT at Ennismore. “This opening signifies a significant milestone for Ennismore as we expand our global footprint into Africa.”

The soft renovation of the hotel will focus on creating a relaxed and stylish atmosphere, reflecting the Hyde brand’s reputation for blending music, art, and fashion. Guests can look forward to a vibrant and eclectic space that captures the essence of Johannesburg’s dynamic culture.

With its prime location near the Rosebank Gautrain station, the Hyde Hotel is poised to become a popular destination for both leisure and business travelers seeking a distinctive and memorable stay in the heart of the city.
