In response to growing popular demand, Jack Black’s Brewing Co. is thrilled to announce that its “Shoes For Good” initiative is now a permanent, year-round effort, continuing beyond its fourth year of successful runs. Traditionally, this heartwarming campaign was associated with the build-up to the RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town, where Jack Black encouraged people to donate their previously loved shoes in exchange for their signature beer. Now, the initiative has evolved into an always-on effort, making a significant impact through ongoing collaboration with various NGOs.
To date, the initiative has collected over 1,200 pairs of shoes through the generosity of different running crews, runners, and communities. As the initiative grows, Jack Black’s Brewing Co. is excited to announce a new partnership with The Sneaker Shack, a specialist in shoe cleaning services. The Sneaker Shack will be playing a vital role in ensuring that every pair of donated running shoes is professionally refreshed, cleaned, and ready for their new owners.
A Simple Mission, A Big Impact
The mission of the “Shoes For Good” initiative remains simple: collect used and new running shoes to support those in need. By working closely with partners and NGOs, Jack Black’s Brewing Co. ensures that support reaches a diverse range of communities across Cape Town and Johannesburg. Each partner location will have the freedom to choose their own NGO to collaborate with, allowing for tailored support that meets specific community needs.
Where to Donate
Starting this September, donations of new or gently used running shoes are welcomed at several locations in both Cape Town and Johannesburg. Here are the participating drop-off points:
