In a spectacular transformation, La Petite Ferme, the renowned boutique hotel and wine estate nestled on the slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains, unveiled its all-new Winery Suites in December 2023. The culmination of months of meticulous renovations has given rise to five exquisite suites, each a testament to contemporary luxury while paying homage to the estate’s rich heritage.
Previously an old Wine Cellar, the Winery Suites emerge like butterflies in full splendor, boasting unrivaled views of the Franschhoek Valley. The modern and on-trend interiors seamlessly blend with a touch of Cape Vernacular style, preserving the estate’s historical essence. Each of the five suites underwent individualized renovations, with carefully selected fixtures and fittings enhancing the overall opulence.
One of the standout features is the ‘showstopper’ bath that takes pride of place in each suite’s bathroom, creating a focal point of luxury. The visual continuity extends to the bedroom wallpapers, with each suite named after and celebrating a La Petite Ferme wine label.
The Winery Suites are an ode to the vineyard’s heritage, with each named after a distinguished wine label:
- The Viognier Suite: Celebrating La Petite Ferme’s exceptional Viognier, echoing the climate and terroir of the Rhône region in France.
- The Verdict Suite: Paying tribute to the Honourable Chief Justice JR Dendy Young, this suite reflects integrity and high moral principles.
- The ZA Suite: Honoring South African wines, this suite showcases La Petite Ferme’s limited-quantity label crafted by master winemaker Wikus Pretorius.
- The Variation Suite: Embracing the diversity in La Petite Ferme’s Rhône Style Blend, this suite signifies a blend of factors and creativity.
- Baboon Rock Suite: Inspired by baboons visiting the estate, this suite captures the playful spirit of these occasional guests.
Each Winery Suite features a private balcony, offering breathtaking views, and guests can luxuriate in a brand-new shared pool. The sun-kissed interiors, adorned with light oak flooring, create a tranquil ambiance. Natural light filters through delicate linen curtains, providing a serene escape for those seeking curated simplicity and peaceful retreats.
La Petite Ferme’s commitment to luxury extends beyond the Winery Suites, with additional accommodation options including the Manor House Suites, featuring a shared pool, and the Vineyard Suites, each equipped with a private plunge pool.
Apart from its luxurious accommodation offerings, La Petite Ferme boasts an award-winning restaurant and produces world-class, hand-crafted wines. Positioned less than three minutes from the village of Franschhoek, the estate offers arguably the best view of the Franschhoek Valley and serves as an idyllic getaway for both summer and winter escapes. La Petite Ferme invites guests to experience the perfect fusion of elegance, heritage, and tranquility in the heart of South Africa’s wine country.
