Celebrating five decades of remarkable legacy, BMW Group South Africa has unveiled a special edition coffee table book, BMW – The Unique South African Story, published by The Vantage Corporation. This 640-page hardcover publication captures BMW’s inspiring South African journey from the establishment of its Rosslyn production plant to its influential presence today, making it the most comprehensive account of BMW’s local history to date.

BMW – The Unique South African Story takes readers on an immersive journey through the brand’s evolution, highlighting its milestones as South Africa’s first BMW production facility outside Germany. Located in Rosslyn, north-west of Pretoria, the plant began with models like the BMW 2000 SA and the iconic BMW 333i, bringing German engineering excellence to South Africa and marking a turning point for the automotive industry in the country.

From historic model launches to BMW M Motorsport’s exhilarating legacy of cars and drivers, this well-researched book features detailed accounts from BMW Group South Africa’s leaders, with reflections on the brand’s rich South African story.
