Sun City is set for a dramatic makeover as the iconic hotel embarks on a comprehensive refurbishment project. Beginning in August, all 340 rooms, corridors, terraces, and the Sun Terrace will undergo a complete upgrade, promising a revitalized experience for guests.
The multi-phase project, estimated to cost R350 million, is scheduled for completion by November 2026. However, guests attending the Nedbank Golf Challenge later this year can look forward to enjoying the first wave of renovations, with 67 refreshed rooms ready by the end of November 2024.
“Paying homage to the rich Tswana culture and the unique surroundings of Sun City, the new interiors will combine comfort with craft to create a uniquely African experience,” said Ryan Illgner, Director of Blacksmith Interior Inspiration.
New Padel Courts Open Soon
In other exciting news, Sun City Resort is expanding its leisure offerings with the opening of its new R8 million Padel facilities at the end of July. The four outdoor courts, complete with night-time lighting, will be available for booking from 6am to 11pm daily. Visitors can enjoy the accompanying reception area, ablution facilities, pro shop, and food and beverage area.
Court bookings can be made through the Playtomic app, at the hotel, using MVG cards, or directly at the Padel court facility. The cost is R450 per hour for four players, excluding equipment and balls.
These developments mark a significant investment in Sun City’s future, promising to enhance the overall guest experience and solidify its position as a premier destination for leisure and entertainment.
